The organizing committee's meeting held at Gorkha United Public School has decided that the next (32^nd) running shield competition will organized by Shiva Shakti Ma Vi, Perani.

Gorkha United Public School secured third position by defeating Sarshwoti Ma Vi Nepalgunj.

National Record on Female Triple Jump

Keshari Chaudhary of Angeles Secondary School Nepalgunj, Banke has set a new National Record of 10.5m on Female Triple Jump on this 31st Inter Secondary Level Running Shield.

Previous record of 9.94m was also set by Keshari Chaudhary herself.

The competition is being held from 16 to 20 Poush (31 Dec 2006 to 04 Jan 2007) at Gorkha United Public School (GUPS), Kohalpur.

Senior Athlete Baikuntha Manandhar inaugurated the 31^st Inter Secondary School Running Shield Sport Competition in Banke.

56 Schools from Banke District are participating in the 31^st Inter Secondary School Running Shield Sport Competition.

The competition is being held from 16 to 20 Poush (31 Dec 2006 to 04 Jan 2007) at Gorkha United Public School (GUPS), Kohalpur.

The competition was previously known as Birendra Running Shield and it is also the first time in the history of the running shield that this competition is being organized by private boarding school.Events -

5. Triple jump
6. High jump
7. Longjump

For the first time the competition has live radio coverage and results available on the internet.

Radio Bagheshowari F.M. is live broadcasting the competition everyday 2 hours while kohalpur.com is the official media.

According to the Journalist Madhav Adhikari of Bagheshowari F.M. the competition is very well managed by the organizers.

He also emphasized that the sport teachers should give the participants more technical knowledge of sporting rules. The comment comes after some participants who even performed well lacked a bit of technical skills.
